Data Analyst IV/ Business Analyst (Power BI Focus)
Location: Remote (Must work EST or CST hours)
Schedule: MondayβFriday, 8:00 AM β 5:00 PM EST/CST
Employment Type: 6 Month Contract
$70/hr.-$78/hr.
Position Overview
This role is focused on supporting enterprise reporting modernization by translating legacy reporting logic into scalable, high-performing Power BI solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with data engineers, solution architects, and developers to define reporting requirements, validate data accuracy, and ensure high-quality data delivery. This position requires a strong foundation in healthcare data, data analysis, SQL, and Power BI development.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed data requirements, including KPIs and reporting metrics.
β’ Analyze historical and legacy reports to identify data sources, business logic, and metric definitions.
β’ Translate legacy reporting logic into modern specifications aligned with Power BI and current enterprise data models.
β’ Support the design of semantic layers and scalable data models that enable consistent, efficient reporting.
β’ Create and maintain mapping documentation between legacy systems and new data warehouse structures.
β’ Work alongside data engineers and architects to ensure pipelines are optimized for analytical and reporting use.
β’ Partner with Power BI developers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
β’ Conduct data validation and testing to confirm the accuracy and consistency of report outputs.
β’ Investigate and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with technical teams.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
β’ Minimum 5 years of experience in data or business analysis with a focus on enterprise reporting and metrics development.
β’ Hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX for data modeling and advanced calculations.
β’ Proficiency in SQL for querying, transformation, and analysis of large datasets.
β’ Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and experience with enterprise platforms such as Azure and/or Databricks.
β’ Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or AHA for managing tasks and workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience working in the healthcare industry, particularly with clinical, financial, or operational datasets.
β’ Background in analyzing complex data environments and legacy reporting systems.
β’ Understanding of data governance best practices and principles for ensuring data quality and consistency.
β’ Experience with large-scale reporting modernization or migration projects (e.g., from legacy tools to Power BI).
