Job Description
This Data Analyst role focuses on transforming clinical and laboratory data into meaningful insights that support high-quality healthcare decisions. Responsibilities
• Enter, create, maintain, and archive designated master data within your area of responsibility with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Import clinical data from field operations and ensure it is correctly structured, complete, and ready for analysis.
• Utilize statistical application software, including EP Evaluator and Microsoft Excel, to analyze clinical and laboratory data.
• Apply CLIA and other relevant regulatory requirements to assess data for compliance and monitor its quality.
• Review data to ensure quality standards are met for internal stakeholders and external customers, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
• Contribute to the development and support of automated and efficient data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.
• Use your understanding of databases and data structures to organize data effectively, including tables, hierarchical structures, and flat files.
• Identify data issues, inconsistencies, or gaps and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them and improve data integrity.
• Take calculated risks and implement new ideas and process improvements within established parameters and regulatory guidelines.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.
• Communicate findings, trends, and insights clearly through written reports and oral presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support chemistry laboratory verification and inspection activities by providing accurate data and documentation as needed.
• Ensure all data handling and documentation align with applicable regulatory checklists and laboratory verification expectations.
Essential Skills
• Medical Laboratory Medicine degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of EP Evaluator statistical software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals and data structures, including tables, hierarchical structures, and flat files.
• Experience with data analysis in a clinical or laboratory environment.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple functions at one time.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with CLIA regulatory requirements and their application to clinical and laboratory data.
• Familiarity with College of American Pathologists regulatory checklists.
• Knowledge of chemistry laboratory verification and inspection expectations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high data quality and integrity.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Medical Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist certification with a minimum of 3 years of experience (preferred).
• Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (preferred).
• Experience with Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis (preferred).
• Ability to contribute to automated decision-making processes and data-driven workflows.
• Comfort taking initiative, proposing new ideas, and implementing improvements within defined parameters.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, including field operations and laboratory staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot data issues in complex environments.
