Role description
his role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and enhance software applications using DataStage ETL, Mainframe COBOL, Unix, Python, and automation tools. You’ll be part of a collaborative, tech-savvy team, implementing software changes, addressing data-related issues, and driving improvements in technology and delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop solutions for new and existing data reporting requirements using DataStage, Mainframe COBOL, Unix, and Python.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve existing data or application issues.
• Identify gaps in processes and implement improvements, automation, and stability enhancements.
• Analyze data issues, design solutions based on business requirements and architecture, prototype, unit test, and deploy quality solutions.
• Modify and maintain DataStage ETL, Unix jobs, Mainframe COBOL programs, and Python automation scripts.
• Participate in 24x7 production support as needed.
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in DataStage (ETL), Unix, shell scripting, Control-M, db2/Sybase/Oracle SQL, Jira, Bitbucket, Mainframe COBOL, and Python.
• Strong analytical and development skills to troubleshoot and deliver effective solutions.
• Team player with a positive attitude and innovative mindset.
• Experience with system development life cycle methodologies, including Agile.
• Quick learner of new technologies and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management.
• Committed to improving application development processes and tools.
Preferred Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Python, DataStage ETL, Unix, and Mainframe COBOL.
• Experience in 24x7 production support environments.
