Role description
Data & Business Analyst - Data & Analytics Hybrid (2 days onsite), various offices across the UK (London, Salford, Cardiff, Glasgow) Up to £550 per day (inside ir35) 6 months (possible extensions One of our public sector clients is seeking an experienced Data & Business Analyst to help transform financial and operational data into high-quality insight that supports strategic planning and decision-making across the organisation. The role will involve: • Extracting, analysing, and interpreting data from existing financial and operational models, including poorly structured datasets • Designing and building new financial models from scratch that are robust, scalable, and user-friendly • Migrating and transforming data into modern analytics platforms such as Power BI • Developing dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insight to stakeholders • Conducting scenario planning, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis to support business planning • Working closely with finance and business teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions • Identifying data gaps and proposing innovative improvements to data quality and reporting processes • Translating complex analysis into concise, meaningful insight for non-technical audiences • Managing relationships with senior stakeholders, often balancing competing priorities and expectations • Promoting best practice and contributing to the development of data standards and analytical capability About you: • Strong analytical background with proven experience in financial modelling • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with Power BI • Experience working with complex or imperfect data and improving data integrity • Knowledge of scenario planning and financial forecasting techniques • Experience with data scripting languages such as Python, R, or SQL • Confident communicator able to influence and advise senior stakeholders • Self-sufficient, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Please apply today to be considered McGregor Boyall is an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on any grounds.
