Role description
Job Title: Data Analyst – SAS & SQL Experience: 6+ years Location: Edinburgh Work Type – Hybrid (Office 3 days in a week) Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimize SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and reporting. Write efficient SQL queries to manipulate, extract, and validate data from relational databases. Perform detailed data analysis, identifying trends, patterns, and insights to support business strategies. Create and automate dashboards, reports, and performance metrics for stakeholders. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BI, IT, Business Units) to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions. Provide ad-hoc data support and analysis to management as needed. Document processes, queries, and workflows for knowledge sharing and audit purposes. Required Skills 5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence. Strong expertise in SAS (Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS SQL, Macros, etc.). Proficiency in SQL for complex queries, data manipulation, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with large datasets, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.). Solid knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and reporting tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
