Data Analyst
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing BI team under the guidance of the Director of Business Intelligence. You will play a key role in turning raw data into actionable insights by creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that support decision-making across multiple departments. In addition to Power BI, you will have the opportunity to explore and help implement open-source BI tools (e.g., Metabase) and leverage Python and SQL for data exploration and light forecasting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting:
1. Gather, understand, and translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and reports.
1. Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, ensuring they are accurate, user-friendly, and insightful.
1. Collaborate with the BI team to explore open-source tools (e.g., Metabase) for additional reporting and visualization needs.
Forecasting & Analytics:
1. Assist in developing basic forecasting models (e.g., time-series, regression) to support demand planning, resource allocation, or other data-driven initiatives.
1. Utilize Python and SQL for data cleaning, analysis, and ad hoc queries to derive insights and trends.
1. Contribute to integrating predictive analytics outputs into dashboards, working closely with data scientists and the Director of BI.
Data Quality & Governance:
1. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across various data sources.
1. Follow established data governance policies, collaborating with the Director of BI and Data Engineering to resolve data quality issues.
1. Document data definitions, transformations, and best practices to maintain transparency and reproducibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Partner with stakeholders from Finance, Operations, Product, and other teams to understand business needs and provide analytical support.
1. Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences clearly and concisely.
1. Work with Data Engineering and DevOps teams to optimize data pipelines and dashboards for performance and reliability.
Continuous Improvement & Learning:
1. Stay updated on BI best practices, new technologies, and open-source trends (e.g., Superset, Redash, Grafana) to propose potential enhancements.
1. Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions within the BI team.
1. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency using Python scripts or other tools.

Education & Experience:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
β’ 2β5 years of experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
Technical Skills:
β’ Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dashboard creation).
β’ Solid SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
β’ Experience with Python for basic scripting, data manipulation, or forecasting tasks.
β’ Familiarity with data visualization principles and storytelling with data.
Analytical & Communication Skills:
β’ Strong attention to detail and ability to translate business questions into data requirements.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
β’ Proven track record of problem-solving, critical thinking, and curiosity-driven exploration.
Preferred:
β’ Open-Source BI: Exposure to or interest in Metabase, Superset, Redash, or similar platforms.
β’ Forecast Modeling: Basic understanding of time-series or regression forecasting methods.
β’ Healthcare Experience: Familiarity with HIPAA or regulated data environments.
