Role description
Job Title: Operations Data Analyst, Expert
Location: Oakland, CA β Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 6 Months
Description
Local candidates only. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite each week. The selected hire will receive a company laptop and access to the Oakland General Office campus.
Responsibilities
β’ Manage complex data analysis projects from initiation to presentation, ensuring completion within budget and timeline.
β’ Design data analysis processes to meet business objectives; process, analyze, and present findings tailored to specific audiences.
β’ Create automated data routines and processes for accurate reporting and data delivery.
β’ Extract and transfer data from databases to support operational analysis.
β’ Apply broad expertise in data processing and analysis to solve diverse business issues.
β’ Recommend innovative solutions to enhance databases with new sources and improved processes.
β’ Develop comprehensive reports with clear, actionable insights.
β’ Collaborate with directors and managers across functions to influence business decisions.
β’ Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
β’ Collect, clean, and integrate data from systems such as SAP, Foundry, GIS, and Copperleaf.
β’ Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau.
β’ Work with cross-functional teams to define challenges and design data-driven solutions.
β’ Monitor KPIs and provide recommendations for operational improvement.
β’ Conduct ad hoc analyses and respond to data requests.
β’ Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems and platforms.
Required Education
β’ BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Education
β’ Masterβs degree.
Minimum Experience
β’ 6+ years of related work experience.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
β’ Familiarity with utility operations.
β’ Advanced Microsoft Excel/Access skills (complex formulas, graphing, VBA).
β’ Advanced visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
β’ Advanced SQL query writing using Oracle or Business Objects.
β’ Strong knowledge of Base SAS and programming languages such as Visual Basic, Perl, or C.
β’ Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
β’ Strong problem-solving abilities and influence skills.
β’ Advanced project management skills to lead cross-functional teams.
