Role description
Role: Data Analyst
Location: Bay Area CA (Remote)
Contract
Must haves from a skillset perspective are strong Data Analysis (analyze patterns in data, identify any anomalies and outliers, debug data issues and identify root causes), very strong communication skills (with ability to clearly communicate issues in a simple manner, and present possible solutions in a very proactive manner to actively drive resolutions and forward progress in the project), extremely strong SQL skills, and intermediate level Python skills.
Job Responsibilities:
· Create and implement data definition and mapping based on business stakeholder and data science team guidance to ensure data quality, data governance, and a single source-of-truth
· Perform thorough data analysis and profiling, identify patterns, data quality issues and summarize the findings
· Collaborate with Data Engineers, Solution Engineers & Subject matter experts to define data integration needs and standards, and implementation roadmaps.
· Operationalize processes for creation and change of data, to define business rules, and to foster data quality, and data governance.
Minimum qualifications:
· Good knowledge of SQL to be able to do Data Profiling and Analysis is most important, along with understanding of Data Governance activities like Data Profiling, Data Lineage and Data Flows
· Should have worked as Data Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or Data Steward with knowledge of and having worked on Master Data Governance projects
· Experience with master data management, data integration, data governance, data analysis, or data quality and data profiling to support cross-functional business teams.
· Experience leading system integration, data architecture, and data warehouse programs.
· Experience with SQL, data profiling, fuzzy matching, or master data hierarchy definition (for product, supplier, location, etc.)
· Hands on experience with implementation of at least one MDM project
Nice to have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
· Specific knowledge of any MDM tools
· Experience in supply chains or integrating and optimizing ERP or supply chain / inventory tools
· Understanding of data centers and operations, cloud operations, facilities management, engineering, and construction
