We are currently looking for a Data and Analytics Manager to join our Data Science & Insights team. This role is advertised on a fixed term contract and 28 hours per week basis.
As part of the Data Science & Insights Team, the Data and Analytics Manager will play a key role will be responsible for data management & analytics delivery across the RSC, ensuring a better use of data as an asset and a joined-up, shared view of customers.
Reporting into the Head of Data Science & Insights, you will take the lead in managing our use of data across the organisation, ensuring we derive better understanding of our customers and markets, and, supporting staff in their use of data and analytics. You will lead, manage and develop a team of data engineering and application specialists to deliver high quality data & analytics that can inform evidence-based decisions about proposals for change.
We are looking for someone with prior experience in implementing and managing a data warehouse and/or a single customer view tool in a complex organisation.
In this role you will play a critical role in providing the organisation with decision support through strategic interpretation of data and creation of insights. You will use a range of analytics, visualisation tools and data sources to deliver analytics and insights to help to inform commercial decision-making. You will encourage a data informed approach to decision-making across the organisation, helping the business to understand the value of data, data management & analytics.
Responsibilities
• Work with the Head of DS&I, Digital Measurement & Analytics Lead and key stakeholders across the organisation to develop a strategy and road-map for data & analytics development
• Oversee the designing, building and deploying of the data management solution(s) required by the RSC: collaborate across the business, auditing, standardising & combining data sources where appropriate with other user data to an ensure delivery of robust analytics as well as collaborating with the Technology team to deliver a holistic view of our customers, using, for example, CRM, SCV and data warehousing solutions
• Understand the benefits of, and use to maximum effect, data warehousing solutions, specialist CRM and analysis software such as Paperstack, MasterVision, SalesForce, Ringgold and others
• Define the data governance and associated processes required for standardising data at the RSC and collaborate with a diverse set of users and stakeholders
Main Requirements
• Excellent analytical, statistical and critical thinking skills-either a graduate in scientific/numerate discipline or a proven track record in this area
• Demonstrable experience of establishing, implementing and embedding data management and standardisation
• Familiarity with data related AWS technologies including databases (especially Redshift and Document DB), pipelining (e.g. using AWS lambda) and associated core technologies (e.g. SNS/SQS)
• Previous experience in building a data warehouse or single customer view in a complex organisation, developing CRM solutions e.g. Salesforce, and an understanding of information architecture
• Experience in managing data management projects and working with technical teams
• Previous track record of working with data to create business insights and recommendations. Ability to understand what data will be beneficial to our organisation; Ability to translate company goals and objectives into data requirements & analytics delivery
• Experience of analytics development, including data visualisation software e.g. Microsoft Power BI
• Experience of managing people

This role is contractually based at our Cambridge office. However, we embrace flexibility at the RSC and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate and for Team meetings. Any hybrid working arrangements need to be agreed with your line manager.
