Role description
If you are a proven Data Architect at principal/lead level we have a new contract we would like to disucss with you.
This is outside IR35 and whilst fully remote, you will be supporting a client based in America so working hours will be on CST as well as being paid in USD.
Overview
Principal Data Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise data solutions within a modern data platform. The role is central to advancing data maturity, defining architectural standards, and ensuring strong alignment between business strategy and technology delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and evolve current- and future-state enterprise data architecture
• Design scalable data solutions aligned to business capabilities and non-functional requirements
• Develop and maintain data architecture and technology roadmaps
• Provide technical leadership, governance, and best-practice guidance to engineering teams
• Define and promote data architecture standards, models, and methodologies
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across business, product, engineering, and operations
• Assess emerging technologies, market trends, and industry developments
Technical Skills & Experience
• 12+ years’ experience across enterprise Data Management, including data architecture, big data, data quality, data modelling, data governance, data integration/ETL, metadata management, and data security
• 10+ years’ experience operating at enterprise scale, partnering with stakeholders across multiple business and technology domains
• 5+ years’ experience designing and delivering end-to-end data warehouse solutions
• Strong SQL expertise, including performance optimisation
• Hands-on experience with ETL and analytics platforms such as SSIS, Talend, Power BI, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot (or equivalent)
• Experience with data cataloguing, data lineage, and enterprise data platforms
• Proven experience working in cloud-based data environments and supporting migrations from on-premise to cloud
• 2+ years’ experience leading or influencing distributed teams
• Background within regulated or complex enterprise environments; financial services experience advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
