Role description
Role : Data Architect
Location: O'Fallon, MO 63368 ( Any PSL Location with flexibility to travel to client location for meetings)
Experience: 9+ years
Engagement Type: Contract
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years in data architecture roles, with experience in both legacy and cloud-native environments.
Strong understanding of mainframe data formats (EBCDIC), COBOL copybooks, and Unix-based data systems.
Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, S3, Athena, EMR.
Experience with ETL/ELT tools, data modeling (dimensional, normalized), and data pipeline orchestration.
Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), and metadata management.
Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI).
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze legacy Data platform, data formats (EBCDIC, VSAM), schemas, and storage mechanisms.
Design future-state data architecture including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming pipelines.
Define data ingestion, transformation, and consumption patterns using AWS services (Glue, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Athena).
Collaborate with Enterprise Architect and Business Analyst to align data architecture with business and technical goals.
Establish data governance, lineage, and metadata management frameworks.
Support data migration strategy, including mapping, cleansing, and validation.
Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with Mastercardβs standards.
