Our client is seeking a senior-level data architecture and analytics strategy consultant to lead the development of their enterprise knowledge and analytics platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in designing scalable data platforms that comply with strict privacy and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with our software architect and analytics team to implement a centralized data mart/lake incorporating internal, public, and third-party data sources to drive business insight, client value, and operational intelligence. The objective of this engagement is to deliver a fully operational data platform—including schema documentation, ingestion pipelines, data governance, and visualization architecture—ready for internal ownership post-project.
This role is 100% remote and is forecasted to last 6-9 months. They are only considering candidates who live in the Eastern Standard Time zone, but will consider candidates in the Central Standard Time zone.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and implement the architecture for a centralized knowledge base and data analytics platform
• Define data schemas for internal domains, including Claims Audit, ECRA pool, Reinsurance, Legal Bill Audit, Quantitative Services, and SIMS data
• Evaluate and apply legal constraints on data use; implement privacy-preserving data transformation strategies
• Lead selection or customization of data storage and processing technologies (cloud/on-prem hybrid)
• Assess current data assets and identify opportunities for standardization, deduplication, and cross-functional integration.
• Design ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) /ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines to integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure technical readiness and knowledge transfer
• Integrate public datasets and third-party data to enrich internal analytics capabilities
• Establish data governance protocols and documentation standards
• Support data visualization and reporting architecture to democratize data access internally
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop frameworks for compliant data use and access controls.
• Strong knowledge of data security best practices
• Experience with data loss protection tools and controls
• Mentor and upskill the internal analytics team to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability of the platform.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years in data architecture, analytics strategy, or enterprise data platforms
• Demonstrated experience implementing data lakes/marts in heavily regulated industries
• Familiarity with insurance/reinsurance data systems, claims processes, legal billing, and audit workflows preferred
• Strong knowledge of data privacy practices (e.g., anonymization, GDPR, CCPA)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow)
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
