Role description
Data Architect | £600 - £630 We're working with a major global aviation leader currently undergoing a high-stakes digital flight path towards a complete data platform transformation. This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity to spearhead a massive migration project, moving a complex legacy landscape into a cutting-edge cloud environment. You will bridge the gap between high-level architectural vision and technical delivery, utilizing AWS and Snowflake to redefine how this industry giant handles its data. The Role • Lead the end-to-end architecture and strategic delivery of a mission-critical Oracle to AWS and Snowflake migration. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a dedicated team of engineers, ensuring best practices in data engineering and delivery excellence. • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data models and pipelines across the modern cloud data stack. • Re-engineer legacy Oracle data structures into modern, cloud-native architectures optimized for Snowflake performance. • Partner with senior stakeholders to align complex technical solutions with evolving business needs and aviation industry requirements. What You'll Need • Proven track record as a Data Architect leading large-scale cloud migration programmes within enterprise environments. • Deep technical expertise in migrating legacy Oracle systems specifically into AWS and Snowflake environments. • Specific experience architecting and managing HR Data domains—this is a critical requirement for the current project phase. • Advanced skills in Data Modelling (Star Schema, Data Vault), Architecture Design, and Cloud Data Platforms. • Strong leadership capabilities with a history of managing engineering teams through complex delivery cycles.
