Job Description - Data Architect

Job Type :Contract
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining data architecture standards, designing end-to-end data integration pipelines, and ensuring high performance, security, and reliability of enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement enterprise-level data architectures using Azure and SQL Server technologies.
• Develop, manage, and optimize data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Architect ETL/ELT workflows to ingest data from multiple sources (on-premises and cloud).
• Design and maintain SQL Server databases, including schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Ensure data quality, data governance, and data security best practices are followed.
• Optimize SQL queries and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Define data modeling standards (logical, physical, and dimensional models).
• Implement error handling, monitoring, and logging in Azure Data Factory pipelines.
• Support data migration initiatives from on-prem systems to Azure.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring to development teams.
• Document architecture designs, data flows, and technical standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory (pipelines, triggers, linked services, datasets).
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing, partitioning).
• Experience with data modeling (OLTP and OLAP, star/snowflake schemas).
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing principles.
• Experience integrating data from REST APIs, flat files, relational databases, and cloud sources.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database / SQL Managed Instance.
• Knowledge of security concepts such as encryption, RBAC, and data access controls.
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
