Role description
At NHS Property Services, we believe our people are our greatest asset. That's why we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our People Strategy - Get, Grow, and Keep Great People, is all about building a values-driven culture where colleagues and customers are at the heart of everything we do. NHS Property Services is strengthening its approach to data quality, governance, and risk management, and we're looking for a detail‑driven, proactive, and assurance‑focused Data Assurance Analyst to support this important work. This is a hands‑on role where you'll play a key part in embedding strong data controls, improving processes, and ensuring our organisation remains audit‑ready. You'll work closely with the Data Governance, Assurance, and Quality Manager to implement our data assurance framework, support the rollout of the Risk and Control (RACM) framework, and carry out audits and compliance evaluations across the business. Your work will help strengthen decision‑making, reduce risk, and improve the quality and reliability of data used across NHSPS. If you enjoy analysing processes, identifying improvements, and working with a wide range of stakeholders to embed best practice, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how data is managed and governed across the organisation. Who You Are You have a strong eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and control. You're confident working across multiple data and assurance activities at once, ensuring processes are followed, risks are identified, and stakeholders are engaged and supported throughout. Your organised, methodical approach helps keep assurance work on track and ensures the business can rely on robust, high‑quality data. Key Responsibilities • Shape and implement the Data Risk Control Management (DRACM) policy, as well as a robust controls environment. • Ensure an audit-ready assurance process is in place to support our end-to-end processes. • Design key control requirements across the business to ensure assurance aligns with business objectives and audit principles. • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders to develop and execute a robust three lines of defence model, effectively mitigating risks. • Review data controls, monitor compliance, and provide guidance, acting as an escalation mechanism when data does not meet the required standards. • Monitor data quality metrics and ensure they meet the required standards. • Design all Data Assurance documentation, including processes, policies, and procedures. • Carry out internal audit checks to ensure processes are maintaining the integrity of the data. • Develop and apply data validation and correction routines, identifying opportunities for automation. • Log, coordinate, and assist in the implementation of actions arising from the Data and Information Governance forums. • Develop cases to support business decisions based on identified issues, proposing a range of solutions with their pros and cons and recommending the preferred remedy. Where you'll be This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel to one of our offices as required. (This will be a 4 month FTC) What we can offer you We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary we will also offer: • 27 days annual leave + 8 days bank holiday with the option to buy additional weeks leave. • A Smarter Working Policy, empowering you to choose the location of how and where you work according to your daily activities. • Training and development opportunities, providing opportunities for our colleagues to develop and progress their careers at all levels through our Professional Excellence Framework. • SMART Pension contribution into which the company will contribute up to 6% • A range of flexible benefits, including NHS retail discounts and Cycle to Work Scheme. • We have a great Colleague Assistance Programme and offer support for all areas of life. An organisation with a purpose… We are an organisation with a passion for giving back. Putting money back into the NHS, raising £150,000 over 3 years for our charity partner Young Lives vs Cancer, supporting colleagues to volunteer within their local communities, and being committed to creating a sustainable working environment on our pledge to become net zero carbon by 2050. We understand that it's important to feel like the work you do is having a meaningful impact on society, and through our approach to being responsible for business, we make sure that every colleague is given the opportunity to make a difference. At NHS Property Services, we're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from disabled people and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace to support your needs. If you require any support or adjustments, please let us know - we're here to help We celebrate diversity, and we are working hard to create an inclusive environment where people love to work and can fulfil their potential. We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications.
