Data Business Analyst
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Contract: 12 months
Day rate: £300-£400 (inside ir35)
We're looking for an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a large-scale enterprise technology environment supporting complex, global systems. This role sits at the intersection of data, architecture, and IT service management, playing a key part in aligning business data requirements with modern technology platforms.
What you'll be doing
• Gather, analyse, and actively track asset and configuration data requirements across multiple technology and business functions
• Perform cross-functional analysis to identify synergies, gaps, and alignment with industry standards
• Work closely with data architects to evaluate technical implementation options and validate solutions
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, assessing impacts of proposed changes
• Support data discrepancy analysis, including data lineage across multiple systems
• Create, maintain, and present high-quality data artefacts and documentation
• Coordinate with project teams to deliver milestones on time and manage change control activities
What we're looking for
• Several years' experience in data or business analysis roles
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including CMDB/AMDB data models
• Solid understanding of data architecture and data lineage concepts
• Knowledge of ITSM / ITIL frameworks and IT asset management
• Ability to read and interpret technical materials such as scripts or configurations
Nice to have
• Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments
• Agile or programme management experience
• ServiceNow, ITIL, or data visualisation certifications
