Data Business Analyst • Location: Farringdon, London • Job Type: Contract, Hybrid working model Join our client's Commercial team. This role is crucial for defining and delivering technology solutions within the International Parcels division of our client, a renowned company with a rich history and a broad reach across the UK. Day-to-Day of the Role: • Lead end-to-end requirements management within Waterfall and hybrid delivery environments, ensuring all artefacts pass formal stage-gates. • Capture, structure, and document requirements for various projects including ML products, data pipelines, APIs, dashboards, decision engines, and operational reporting. • Act as a key interface between technical teams and business units, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice versa. • Facilitate workshops to clarify needs, validate assumptions, and resolve conflicting priorities. • Work closely with the Data team to translate modelling concepts into clear functional and non-functional business requirements. • Define business rules, data definitions, KPIs, success metrics, and acceptance criteria for data products. • Support the creation of user stories for Agile squads and detailed BRDs/FRDs for traditional projects. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and requirements management. • Strong interpersonal skills including communication, influencing, collaboration, listening, and conflict management. • Experience in vendor/supplier management within a multi-supplier environment. • Familiarity with data science tooling and terminology (Python, SQL, etc.) is desirable. • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and MLOps and DevOps practices. • Demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst in large complex organisations, preferably within a consultancy.
