Job Description:
β’ We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Business Analyst to support the migration of legacy SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports to Power BI.
β’ The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across geographies to gather requirements, analyze existing reporting structures, and ensure a smooth transition to Power BI while maintaining data integrity and business logic.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Requirement Gathering & Analysis
β’ Collaborate with onshore teams to understand business reporting needs.
β’ Document existing SSRS report functionalities, KPIs, and data sources.
β’ Identify gaps and opportunities for enhancement in Power BI.
β’ Migration Support and Documentation
β’ Assist technical teams in mapping SSRS features to Power BI equivalents.
β’ Validate migrated reports for accuracy, performance, and usability.
β’ Support testing and UAT phases by creating test cases and coordinating feedback.
β’ Stakeholder Communication
β’ Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
β’ Provide regular updates on migration progress, risks, and issues.
β’ Conduct walkthroughs and training sessions for end users on Power BI reports.
β’ Maintain detailed documentation of report specifications, data flows, and migration decisions.
β’ Create user guides and SOPs for Power BI dashboards.
Required Skills & Experience:
β’ 10+ years of experience
β’ Strong understanding of SSRS and Power BI report structures.
β’ Experience in report migration projects, especially SSRS to Power BI.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M).
β’ Familiarity with Power BI Service, Report Builder, and SSDT.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
β’ Ability to work independently and manage offshore coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
β’ Experience with Power BI Report Server and paginated reports.
β’ Knowledge of data governance, security roles, and access control in Power BI.
