Data Business Analyst

Position: Data Business Analyst Location: Remote Duration: Contract Job Description: • We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Business Analyst to support the migration of legacy SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports to Power BI. • The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across geographies to gather requirements, analyze existing reporting structures, and ensure a smooth transition to Power BI while maintaining data integrity and business logic. Key Responsibilities: • Requirement Gathering & Analysis • Collaborate with onshore teams to understand business reporting needs. • Document existing SSRS report functionalities, KPIs, and data sources. • Identify gaps and opportunities for enhancement in Power BI. • Migration Support and Documentation • Assist technical teams in mapping SSRS features to Power BI equivalents. • Validate migrated reports for accuracy, performance, and usability. • Support testing and UAT phases by creating test cases and coordinating feedback. • Stakeholder Communication • Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams. • Provide regular updates on migration progress, risks, and issues. • Conduct walkthroughs and training sessions for end users on Power BI reports. • Maintain detailed documentation of report specifications, data flows, and migration decisions. • Create user guides and SOPs for Power BI dashboards. Required Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of experience • Strong understanding of SSRS and Power BI report structures. • Experience in report migration projects, especially SSRS to Power BI. • Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M). • Familiarity with Power BI Service, Report Builder, and SSDT. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work independently and manage offshore coordination. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. • Experience with Power BI Report Server and paginated reports. • Knowledge of data governance, security roles, and access control in Power BI.
