Role description
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Data Scientist to support an advanced analytics system hosted by CMS to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs. This role requires strong programming and communication skills, with expertise in healthcare data analysis, particularly Medicare and Medicaid. The ideal candidate will be proficient in developing reports, dashboards, and map visualizations using Python and SQL in Snowflake, and Databricks.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a customer-facing data coach for other programmers and data scientists who are working with OnePI hosted applications and data.
Support reports developed in SAS Enterprise Guide, Snowsight and Databricks
Build interactive reports, dashboards, and map visualizations in Databricks and Snowsight notebooks.
Analyze and interpret Medicare and Medicaid datasets to support healthcare reporting, compliance, and client deliverables.
Analyze and interpret complex digital data, such as the usage statistics of a website, especially in order to provide guidance for a business in its decision-making
Participate in code reviews, documentation, and agile development processes.
Required Qualifications:
Masterβs degree in Computer science or related field.
7+ years work experience in Information technology.
Strong proficiency in Snowflake and Databricks software
Advanced programming skills in Python include visualizations and predictive modeling
Strong command of SQL for data querying, transformation, and optimization.
Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Studio.
Hands-on experience with Medicare and Medicaid data analysis and healthcare reporting.
Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and presentation skills.
