Role description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Data Engineers to work for our client within the IT consulting sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role.
Our client is looking for experienced Data Engineers to join their Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Insight Bank team. These roles will focus on an Insight Generation Project within one of the functions, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver meaningful insights supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) driven solutions.
Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark and Snowflake
β’ Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support AI/ML model development and deployment
β’ Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
β’ Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all engineering processes
β’ Contribute to the development of scalable and reusable data engineering frameworks
β’ Support the team in delivering high-impact analytical solutions
β’ Manage data warehouses ensuring data organisation and optimisation
β’ Monitor data systems for failures, enhancing database performance
Requirements
β’ Minimum of 5 yearsβ experience as a Data Engineer with Apache Spark and Snowflake in a production environment
β’ Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, with demonstrable experience in supporting or implementing ML models
β’ Proficiency in Python or Scala for data engineering tasks
β’ Experienced working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and GCP
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control such as Git
β’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable
β’ Extensive experience in Machine Learning
β’ Exposure to ML Operations practices and tools
β’ Experience within financial services or regulated industries
