We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our dynamic IT team at Allied World. In this role, you will assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of data solutions that support our insurance business. Job Duties:
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex data solutions that support business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Architect scalable, efficient, data pipelines, data warehouses and data mesh solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient scripts/SQL code following best practices and standards.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers, providing technical leadership and code reviews.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and processes to improve team productivity and system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with other business systems.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional delivering high performing data solutions, data warehouses, data marts etc.
• Expertise working with platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and/or on-prem (MS SQL, SSIS, Oracle).
• Proficiency working with data tools/platforms (RedShift, Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, SSAS etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with Property & Casualty Insurance is a plus.
This is an on-site position in Iselin, New Jersey.
