Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer in Washington, DC. Responsibilities: • Data Engineer will analyze source and target Microsoft SQL Server databases to understand data structures and business logic • Perform and document data mapping analysis and define transformation rules to support ETL development • Design, build, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, or other tools • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications • Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability • As a Data Engineer, you will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in ETL pipelines • Document data flows, transformation logic, and technical processes • Support hybrid data integration scenarios involving on-prem and cloud-hosted databases Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field • Minimum 10 years of experience in ETL development, database design, and data engineering • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, or others • Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, and relational database concepts • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and hybrid data environments • Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Effective communication and documentation abilities The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
