Job Summary: Our team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a passion for cloud technologies and a strong background in data engineering or backend development, focusing on cloud migration projects. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in migrating search reporting tools to cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, ensuring successful transition and operational efficiency without impacting the business. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment, applying analytical and problem-solving skills while promoting a culture of integrity and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop, design, code, and debug new software or make enhancements to existing software
β’ Lead migration projects, particularly moving search reporting tools to cloud-based solutions (AWS/GCP)
β’ Ensure successful cloud migrations with a focus on achieving parity with on-prem tools and supporting all reporting use cases
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable data architecture
β’ Monitor, maintain, and update systems to improve performance and reliability
Must-Have Skills
β’ Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
β’ Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS or GCP)
β’ Deep understanding of distributed processing tools like Apache Spark
Preferred Industry Experience
β’ Background in Internet, Technology, or Consumer Products sectors
Success in this role is measured by the seamless migration of data and reporting tools to cloud platforms, achieving equal or improved functionality compared to legacy on-prem solutions, without disrupting business processes.
