Title: Data Engineer 3
Location: Peoria, IL (Peoria area)
Workplace type: 100% onsite (M-F, 40 hour work week) 7:30-4:30
Type: Contract
Pay: $52-55.23 MAX/hour on w2
IV type: 2 rounds- first is virtual, 2nd round onsite panel IV
Length: 12 months- possibility to extend
Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired
timeline: closes for submittals week of 10/13, iv's expected the following week

Must haves:
β’ Associate's degree in computer programming or a relevant field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Summary:
The main function of a data engineer is to ensure that the data assets of an organization are supported by an architecture that supports the organization in achieving its strategic goal. A typical data engineer is responsible for setting enterprise standards for databases, data integration, and the means to get to the data.
Job Responsibilities:
β’ Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
β’ Modify existing databases and database management systems.
β’ Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
β’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.
β’ Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
Skills:
β’ Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
β’ Ability to work independently and manage oneβs time.
β’ Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
β’ Knowledge of logical data modeling and physical data modeling.
β’ Knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.
Positionβs Contributions to Work Group:
β’ This position will help support data engineering requests, build pipelines and create/delete and edit tables for Global Parts Pricing. These requests can come from various parts of the corporation.
Typical task breakdown:
β’ Understand requirements and business impacts for various work items through intake meetings, etc.
β’ Solution and deliver on requirements with high degree of autonomy
β’ Bi-weekly release cadence
Interaction with team:
High degree of interaction with the team from requirements gathering to coding, testing and rollout. This includes interaction with business solution analysts, data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and infrastructure specialists.
Team Structure:
Reporting into the work director and team lead will handle the day-to-day; 8 people on the internal team
Work environment:
