Data Engineer / Architect | 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35)

We have an exciting opportunity with one of our E-commerce clients! Overview: We’re looking for a strong Data Architect + Data Engineer hybrid to support a major programme of work. This isn’t an analytics role — we need someone who can get hands-on with database infrastructure, performance, security, and future-state architecture. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct a full health check of our database infrastructure: performance (slow queries), security, stability, and general MOT. • Define and execute remediation actions to improve reliability and performance. • Work closely with software engineers to scope and shape a new SOA architecture. • Design and deliver the database changes required to support the new environment. Contract Length: • 3–6 months (immediate start required) • Fully Remote Outside IR35 Ideal Profile: • Strong background across data engineering and data architecture • Experience with DB optimisation, security, and infra audits • Comfortable working with engineering teams to shape new architectures and deliver changes Reach out to me at alex@syndea.co.uk
