Role description
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Data Engineer with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 9-month contract with a potential for extension. Pay: $65.00 - $75.00/hr;Β W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.Β Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship. Description: Enterprise Protective Services Support and Development Team β€’ This person will be a member of an already underway project that is creating an Enterprise Protective Services (EPS) Data Mart. β€’ This is a Hybrid/Local Position with an expected duration of 6-9 months. β€’ Our key skill needed is Python, Docker running in Docker Swarm mode. PyFlink or Flink is next. Kafka is optional. This position will possess the following primary job duties: β€’ Has deep understanding of the development cycle. β€’ Is able to design and build complex software solutions. β€’ Has experience turning complex ideas into user stories. From there, can turn user stories into workable solutions, providing estimates to complete the work, and breaking down complex work into smaller components. β€’ Assists product owners and business users with questions. β€’ Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements. β€’ Utilizes appropriate Human Performance tools, especially during testing and implementation activities. β€’ Is able effectively transfer knowledge of technologies built to a less-skilled support team. β€’ Assists with testing and migrating code through test regions. Ensures adherence to appropriate design, coding and source control standards. Leads design and code walk-throughs as a presenter or reviewer. β€’ Is able to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form. Recognizes appropriate times to provide this communication. β€’ Exhibits maturity, confidence and a proper level of assertiveness when needed. Effectively handles stress and frustration. Demonstrates the ability to absorb change and continue with positive results. Required Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline β€’ 10+ years’ experience with application development and support β€’ Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communications skills to work effectively with business partners, peer IT resources, managed service providers and all levels of management β€’ Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills β€’ Demonstrated ability to work on multiple user stories concurrently and properly prioritize required tasks β€’ Experience working within an application solution delivery life cycle Desired Qualifications: β€’ Technical Skills (in order of preference): β€’ Python β€’ pyFlink or Flink β€’ SQL β€’ Kafka β€’ Experience with modern source code management tools and processes. β€’ Experience with highly regulated applications β€’ Experience with applicable client standards, IT Security, and ability to apply/produce appropriate deliverables. β€’ Experience working with remote teams β€’ Interface and application integration experience β€’ Demonstrated understanding of data integration architectures including ODS and Data Warehouse concepts Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
