This role involves identifying and validating potential data sources, building data pipelines, and ensuring delivery of high-quality curated data for analytical use. The ideal candidate brings expertise in data modeling, ETL development, cloud platforms, and BI tools, with a strong financial services background.Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement data models, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and adaptability • Build ETL pipelines and perform exploratory data analysis to validate data sources • Support medallion data architecture design for structured and unstructured data • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to refine requirements • Enable downstream analytics by delivering curated, high-quality data sets • Participate in project planning, documentation, and team communication Required Experience • 8-10 years overall experience in data engineering and data modeling • Proven expertise in SQL, Python, and PySpark • Experience with Azure and Databricks platforms • Strong BI tool skills (Tableau, Power BI) • Proficiency in data architecture (OLAP vs. OLTP, star schema, slowly changing dimensions, etc.) • Ability to work independently in a collaborative, cross-functional environment Nice-to-Have Experience • Financial services data experience (customer accounts, transactions, AML, fraud, or risk management) • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or fine-tuning models • Programming or web development background Required Skills • Data modeling & architecture design • ETL pipeline development • Cloud computing (Azure, Databricks) • SQL, Python, PySpark • BI dashboarding (Tableau, Power BI) Preferred Skills • AML, financial crime, or risk analytics background • LLMs and advanced AI model usage • Software development practices in data environments Additional Skills • Independent problem-solving and initiative • Strong documentation and collaboration skills • Ability to adapt to evolving project and business needs Benefits • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Plans • 401(k) Retirement Fund About the Client Our client is a Top 10 bank in Canada and North America, offering comprehensive financial solutions in retail, commercial, wealth management, and wholesale banking.
