Data Engineer – Data Vault 2.0
Location: Fully remote - ( Within the EU )
Contract: Initial 3 months, with a high likelihood of extension
Day rate: £650 per day
IR35 status: Inside IR35
The role
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a fully remote project on an initial three-month contract. You will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining scalable data solutions, with a particular focus on Data Vault 2.0 architecture and modelling.
This position is well suited to a hands-on Data Engineer with extensive Data Vault experience and strong knowledge of modern cloud data platforms.
Key responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable data models using Data Vault 2.0 principles.
• Develop, test and maintain reliable data transformation pipelines.
• Build and optimise data solutions using dbt and BigQuery.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective data models.
• Ensure data quality, performance, scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with data, engineering and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to data-engineering standards, documentation and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-pipeline and modelling issues.
Essential experience
• Multiple years of hands-on Data Vault 2.0 experience.
• Strong commercial experience in data engineering.
• Advanced data-modelling skills.
• Experience developing data transformations with dbt.
• Strong working knowledge of Google BigQuery.
• Experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, delivery-focused environment.
Desirable experience
• Data Vault 2.0 certification.
• Experience with datavault4dbt.
• Experience optimising BigQuery workloads and controlling query costs.
• Knowledge of automated testing, deployment and CI/CD practices for data platforms.
Contract details
This is an initial three-month contract paying £650 per day inside IR35. There is a strong likelihood of extension beyond the initial term.
