Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of business intelligence solutions across the organization. With at least 8 years of experience in data analytics and BI development, the ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and enterprise data architecture. This role plays a critical part in transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, and manage advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets tailored to business needs.
β’ Build optimized data models (star/snowflake schemas) using Power BI and integrate with diverse data sources (SQL, Azure, Excel, APIs, etc.).
β’ Lead BI projects from requirements gathering to deployment, working with cross-functional teams.
β’ Perform data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure high data quality and reliability.
β’ Implement row-level security (RLS), DAX calculations, and performance tuning of Power BI reports.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand KPIs and deliver actionable, user-friendly visualizations.
β’ Establish best practices for Power BI governance, including workspaces, version control, and data refresh strategies.
β’ Mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall maturity of the BI function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
β’ 8+ years of experience in data analytics / business intelligence, with 5+ years focused on Power BI development.
β’ Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and Power BI Service.
β’ Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, etc.).
β’ Experience with Power BI gateways, dataflows, and enterprise-level deployment strategies.
β’ Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and design intuitive, impactful dashboards.
β’ Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
β’ Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Microsoft Certification: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or DA-100 (legacy).
β’ Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Data Lake.
β’ Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics and Power BI REST API for automation.
β’ Exposure to Agile methodologies, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD for BI artifacts.
β’ Industry experience in finance, healthcare, logistics, or manufacturing is a plus.
