Role description
IG is seeking skilled Data Engineer to support the Claims & Cash domain, partnering closely with an existing team. This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable ETL data pipelines, supporting cloud‑based data models, and integrating event‑driven and API‑based data sources.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data into cloud‑based data models.
Develop and manage data flows using AWS services, including S3 as an intermediate storage layer feeding downstream data models.
Implement and support event‑driven data integrations using Kafka.
Build and consume APIs for data ingestion and integration with upstream and downstream systems.
Work with MongoDB Atlas and other cloud data stores to support operational and analytical use cases.
Collaborate with other engineers and internal stakeholders to align on data standards, architecture, and delivery timelines.
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines and platforms.
Support claims and cash‑related reporting and analytics needs through well‑structured, scalable data models.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on ETL development.
Hands‑on experience with AWS, including S3 and cloud‑based data architectures.
Experience with Kafka or similar streaming/event‑driven technologies.
Experience working with NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB Atlas.
Proficiency in Java and experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.
Working knowledge of modern front‑end or service integration layers (e.g., React exposure is a plus but not front‑end heavy)
Nice to Have
Experience in healthcare insurance
Prior experience in large‑scale enterprise environments.
Familiarity with data modeling practices and downstream analytics use cases.
