About the Role
Weβre hiring an experienced Data Engineer 3 to support the analytics division of a trillion-dollar global technology client working on one of the worldβs most popular casual gaming portfoliosβreaching over 40 million monthly active users.
This role focuses on building and scaling data pipelines, ETL/ELT systems, telemetry models, and analytics layers that power real-time insights for game producers, designers, and business leaders.
Youβll join a greenfield project where you will design the analytics foundation for a new game initiative driven by AI, data, and high-volume user telemetry.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using PySpark, ADF, and Azure data lake technologies.
β’ Design ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and telemetry specifications to support core game features.
β’ Partner with producers, designers, engineers, and analytics leadership to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
β’ Develop and optimize semantic models and support light data visualization through tools such as Power BI.
β’ Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support gameplay, user engagement, monetization, and feature performance.
β’ Troubleshoot and enhance existing processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and system reliability.
Required Qualifications
β’ 5β7+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
β’ Strong experience with:
β’ PySpark (5+ years)
β’ Azure Data Factory
β’ Azure Synapse
β’ Azure Storage / ADLS
β’ SQL and data modeling
β’ Data lake architectures (e.g., Medallion)
β’ Experience transforming raw telemetry into structured analytics models.
β’ Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and explain technical concepts clearly.
β’ Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
Preferred Background
β’ Experience in gaming, casual games, or player telemetry analytics.
β’ Experience supporting ad-based revenue models or live-service game data.
β’ Prior work with high-volume, real-time telemetry systems.
