Role description
We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing team and help design and implement data management solutions that support business operations and delivery goals.
This is a fixed term contract for 18-24months based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The client works hybrid working but you will be expected to be on site for 2/3 days a week so easily commutable is essential. Salary is paying between £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
What you’ll do:
• Design and develop solutions aligned with our Technology Strategy and standards.
• Work with SQL Server to create and optimise tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
• Collaborate with business teams to capture requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Take ownership of data lifecycle considerations, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance.
• Contribute to peer reviews, testing strategies, and configuration management.
• Deliver projects to tight deadlines while identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
🔧 What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (design, optimisation, complex queries, and performance tuning).
• Hands-on expertise in SSRS and SSIS.
• Proven ability to deliver in client-facing and operational environments.
• Experience working closely with business areas to translate needs into data-driven solutions.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and a collaborative approach.
Desirable skills (not essential, but great if you have them):
• Data warehousing
• Azure DevOps
• C# / Visual Studio
• Power BI or other visualisation tools
• Agile delivery experience
• Investment/Wealth Management sector background
