Data Engineer
Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years experience in Data Engineering
(OR)
5+ years in Software Engineering or DevOps with a data-heavy focus
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Data Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience with:
• AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, Athena, etc.)
• Python for data pipeline scripting
• ETL development and cloud-based data lakes/warehouses
• Data modeling concepts and best practices
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform – nice to have)
• Familiarity with legacy tools like SQL Server, Oracle, or Informatica a plus
• Experience with QuickSight (or similar reporting tools) is a bonus
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• AWS Certifications in Data or Architecture
• Experience with Spark, Terraform, QuickSight, and legacy systems
• Knowledge of hybrid/cloud migration strategies
Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Data Engineering to help architect, build, and scale their AWS-based data platform. This role is instrumental in designing and implementing data pipelines that support enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and integrations. Ideal candidates will bring a mix of strong cloud engineering experience, modern data tools, and self-sufficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Pay range falls from $55-65/hr dependent on YOE
