Data Engineer (Hybrid Role in Charlotte, NC)

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer for a hybrid opportunity in Charlotte, NC. The candidate will strengthen and support a growing enterprise data ecosystem and collaborate closely with a cross-functional analytics group to translate business requirements into scalable data pipelines and high-quality datasets that enable reporting, dashboards, and operational insights. Required Qualifications of the Data Engineer: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies. Strong SQL expertise with experience writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing database performance. 3-5 years of hands-on Python experience for data wrangling, transformation, and automation workflows. Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in a production environment. Working knowledge of relational database administration, including monitoring and performance tuning. Experience integrating and normalizing data from multiple source systems and formats. Ability to translate business needs into reliable technical data solutions. Experience automating repeatable data processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills within data environments. Effective communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders. Preferred Skills/Experience of the Data Engineer: Familiarity with Boomi, WhereScape, or similar integration and data warehouse automation tools. Experience supporting data pipelines that feed Tableau or other BI visualization platforms. Exposure to secure data movement practices, including firewall coordination. Experience in highly operational or logistics-driven environments. Background in knowledge transfer and technical documentation. Responsibilities of the Data Engineer: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL pipelines that consolidate data from diverse source systems. Develop and optimize SQL queries, tables, and stored procedures to support ongoing data workflows. Use Python to clean, standardize, and automate data transformation processes. Administer and monitor SQL databases to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance. Partner with business and analytics stakeholders to prioritize and fulfill data requests, delivering analytics-ready datasets. Document data flows, processes, and configurations to support long-term maintainability and knowledge continuity.
