Role description
Could you be a good fit? We are looking for the best, highly skilled Data Engineer II to join the team of our exceptional client located in the greater Portland, ME area.
Location: This is a hybrid role based in Maine. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Westbrook as required.

What will your day look like? As a Data Engineer II, you will:
• Design and implement ingestion and storage solutions using AWS services such as S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
• Build and maintain modern, scalable data pipelines leveraging technologies like dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.
• Develop analytical solutions using Snowflake, Airflow, and Apache Iceberg.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product, and quality—to understand and meet evolving data needs.
• Document data flows, architecture decisions, and metadata to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Create fault-tolerant systems that ensure high availability and resilience of data pipelines.
• Actively contribute to testing and quality engineering (QE) processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data solutions.
You will be a good fit for the Data Engineer II role if you have:
• 4+ years of professional experience in a data engineering role within a technology-driven environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Proven experience building and maintaining operational data pipelines, particularly with dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.
• Strong background in AWS cloud services, including S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Ability to operate independently with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience designing scalable, resilient data services and ETL/ELT pipelines in the cloud.
