CereCore International partners with NHS organisations to deliver modern, data-driven solutions that support operational and clinical improvement. We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to support an NHS Trust on a critical reporting and performance improvement programme.
This role is focused on building, optimising, and automating SQL-based pipelines and Azure data environments, with an emphasis on handling NHS commissioning datasets and enabling downstream reporting.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Build and maintain robust SQL pipelines and Azure dataflows to support NHS reporting
β’ Work with operational and BI teams to integrate and prepare data for dashboards and statutory returns
β’ Automate data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes using Azure tooling
β’ Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and ensure reliable data availability
β’ Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to clarify data structures and requirements
β’ Support the creation of real-time or near-real-time data extracts where applicable
β’ Enable future scalability and efficiency in NHS data architecture
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong command of SQL and experience developing enterprise-level ETL/ELT pipelines
β’ Experience working with Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL DB, etc.)
β’ In-depth understanding of NHS datasets (e.g., commissioning, SUS, RTT, A&E)
β’ Experience supporting BI/reporting teams by preparing clean, well-structured data
β’ Familiarity with data validation, quality assurance, and secure NHS data handling
β’ Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight reporting deadlines
Desirable
β’ Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or other NHS integration standards
β’ Experience with real-time streaming data or near-real-time updates
β’ Exposure to Power BI and collaboration with analyst teams
β’ Scripting experience for automation tasks
This role plays a key part in helping an NHS trust recover and stabilise its reporting infrastructure. Youβll support the foundational data architecture needed to deliver compliant and accurate performance outputs.
