β’ Position Summary
The organization is a Data Engineer an enterprise data platform modernization initiative focused on migrating from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. These roles will report functionally to the Lead Data Engineer and will play a critical role in executing the migration strategy, modernizing legacy data processes, and building scalable, cloud-based data solutions.
The foundational Azure infrastructure has been established. The current phase of the initiative is centered on retooling existing assets, connecting legacy objects, and delivering production-ready data pipelines within a modern Azure ecosystem.
Essential Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with the Lead Data Engineer to execute the migration of on-premises SQL Server environments to Microsoft Azure
β’ Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions within the Azure ecosystem
β’ Implement solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric as the preferred platform, or comparable Azure-native services when appropriate
β’ Work with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related services as required
β’ Refactor, support, and maintain existing SSIS packages during the transition period
β’ Migrate and validate legacy data objects, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization
β’ Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based data transformation processes
β’ Support CI/CD deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tooling
β’ Contribute to data architecture discussions, documentation, and best practice development
β’ Participate in hybrid collaboration, working onsite two days per week with the engineering team

Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
β’ Proven experience as a Data Engineer in Microsoft-centric environments
β’ Hands-on experience with Azure data services and cloud migration initiatives
β’ Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
β’ Experience modernizing or supporting SSIS packages in legacy-to-cloud transitions
β’ Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD frameworks
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
