Data Engineer - Only W2

Job Description – Data Engineer Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite per week)Employment Type: Contract Responsibilities Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for large-scale datasets. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and data warehouses to support analytics and reporting. Partner with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions. Implement data quality, data governance, and monitoring frameworks for data reliability and consistency. Optimize query performance and ensure cost efficiency of data platforms. Work with cloud technologies (preferably GCP/AWS/Azure) to enable data storage, processing, and orchestration. Contribute to best practices, coding standards, and automation for continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or big data development. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala. Expertise in SQL and query optimization. Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Presto, or Flink. Proficiency with ETL/ELT frameworks (Airflow, Dataflow, or similar). Experience with cloud platforms (GCP Big Query, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse). Familiarity with data streaming tools (Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Kinesis). Preferred Qualifications Experience working in retail or e-commerce data domains. Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and integration with data platforms. Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong understanding of data security and compliance practices (GDPR, CCPA). Job Type: Contract Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour Application Question(s): Are you willing to come on our W2??
