Data Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer, Senior in McLean, VA. Requirements • Bachelor's degree • 5+ years of experience in data engineering including architecture and modeling • 2+ years of experience designing data pipelines with Python for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data • 2+ years of experience developing scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics • 2+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting • 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices • 2+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation • 2+ years of experience with data warehousing, including AWS Redshift, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake • Experience with modernizing financial systems • Experience supporting a multi-cloud environment • Experience managing a team of 3 or more engineers • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud • Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, or Kafka • Experience with AWS Glue and AWS EMR, and Operational Data Stores (ODS) in database administration, including tuning, indexing, and access controls • Knowledge of medallion architecture for structuring data lakes • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
