BC Forward is currently seeking for a highly motivated AWS Data Engineer for a Onsite Role in Seattle, WA Position Title: AWS Data Engineer Location: Seattle, WA Anticipated Start Date: 4/13/2026 Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. Expected Duration: 04+ Months (W2 contract) Job Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to support the project team in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS data services, automation, and data pipeline development. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS • Develop and optimize data solutions using Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, and Athena • Implement and manage AWS infrastructure components such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPCs • Automate deployment, monitoring, and data workflows using AWS native tools and Python scripting • Support data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data workflows • Ensure security, governance, and compliance standards across AWS environments • Assist in migration of data and applications to AWS cloud • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, analysts, and stakeholders Required Skills & Experience • 6–9 years of experience in Data Engineering • Strong hands-on experience with: • AWS (core services & data ecosystem) • Amazon Redshift (Must Have) • AWS Glue • AWS Athena • AWS Lambda • Python (data processing & automation) • Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices • Experience in performance tuning and query optimization • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation Preferred Qualifications • Experience in large-scale data migration projects • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices • Exposure to Agile development methodologies Benefits: BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.
