Role description
• Telford location - 2 days on site p/week
• Active SC required
• Up to £500/d inside ir35

• Experience required in SAS, Git, ETL tools, data virtualisation, Agile, DevOps tools
Role Opportunity
This project will consolidate the RSDD APIs, TXR002 and ADE, into a single central calculations service for all consumers, reducing complexity, simplifying change management and delivering cost efficiencies.
The role will join a new Scrum team within the Minerva Platform to develop and deliver Ingestion and Risking capabilities within the SAS Platform, including IDP.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and deploy data integration and transformation solutions using Pentaho, Denodo, Talend, and SAS.
• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines and services for business intelligence and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust data solutions.
• Advocate Agile and Scrum practices, ensuring timely sprints and continuous improvement.
• Lead DevOps practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment of data services.
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and innovation.
• Maintain data quality, governance, and security across all solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex data issues and performance bottlenecks.
Key Skills Required:
• SAS 9.4 (DI) and SAS Viya 3.x (Studio, VA, VI) for analytics and reporting.
• ETL expertise: Pentaho, Talend; data virtualisation with Denodo.
• SQL, data modelling, and Oracle (desirable).
• DevOps tools and practices: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes; platform experience with LSF and Jira.
• Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven track record of data projects and teams.
• Certifications in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or relevant data technologies are a plus.
