Role description
Data Engineer – Remote – 4 Month Contract (37.5 hours per week) - £65 - £72.72 per hour (Inside IR35) Our client is a large consultancy looking for skilled Data Engineers with a focus on Azure to design and build data solutions using Microsoft technology stack. You will be designing, building and optimising cloud based ETL pipelines whilst reporting in PowerBI. You will be ensuring Data quality, security and performance whilst working with technical teams. Working Patterns and location – This role is fully remote. The Key Responsibilities of a Data Engineer: • Designing and implementing ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory. • Using Azure functions to process solutions and build scalable data. • Develop data models and data warehouses using Azure Synapse and Azure AQL. • Designing and creating details dashboards and reports using PowerBI • Liaise with technical teams and the business to collect requirements and turn them into solutions. • Ensuring compliance with all data engineering processes. • Ensuring quality and compliance across the business. • Optimising performance of Data pipelines and storage solutions. • Enhance existing data infrastructure and troubleshoot issues. Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Data Engineer, however you will not be expected to have everything: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering roles. • Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions. • Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL processes. • Knowledge of cloud-based data architecture and best practices. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert. • Experience with data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO). • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data processing.
