Role description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Developer with 10+ years of overall IT experience and deep expertise in data engineering and cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake/AWS). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data solutions, along with proven experience in database migrations, security, and cost optimization on Snowflake. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data engineering solutions including data ingestion, data lakes, data warehouses, reporting, and analytics. β€’ Lead database migration initiatives to Snowflake across cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. β€’ Manage Snowflake platform security, including: β€’ Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) β€’ Single Sign-On (SSO) β€’ Dynamic data masking and compliance β€’ Implement and manage tokenization and resolve issues related to encrypted key access in Snowflake. β€’ Monitor and optimize Snowflake costs by: β€’ Tracking compute usage β€’ Setting up resource monitors β€’ Enforcing warehouse sizing best practices β€’ Design and manage cross-region disaster recovery, data replication, and high availability solutions. β€’ Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments. β€’ Utilize Snowflake utilities and features, including: β€’ SnowSQL, Snowpark, Snowpipe β€’ Tasks, Streams, Stored Procedures β€’ Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning β€’ Resource Monitors and Data Sharing β€’ Data Masking and Data Replication β€’ Drive performance tuning and query optimization initiatives within Snowflake. β€’ Manage Snowflake account setup, cloud administration, and integration with orchestration tools. Required Qualifications β€’ 10+ years of IT experience, with significant hands-on experience in the Snowflake platform. β€’ Strong expertise in SQL and Python. β€’ Experience with: β€’ Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) β€’ CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions) β€’ Cloud ecosystem, primarily AWS β€’ Orchestration tools like Airflow β€’ Deep understanding of: β€’ Snowflake architecture and Virtual Warehouses β€’ Snowpark and data sharing capabilities β€’ Snowflake cost monitoring and optimization β€’ Hands-on experience in: β€’ Dynamic data masking β€’ Tokenization β€’ Secure data sharing Preferred Skills β€’ Snowflake certifications such as SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced Architect. β€’ Experience in data governance, security, and regulatory compliance frameworks. β€’ Familiarity with ETL tools and modern data integration frameworks. β€’ Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills. β€’ Ability to work in a fast-paced, global delivery environment.
