Role description
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term
Enso Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established organisation who are investing heavily in their data and digital capabilities as part of a wider transformation programme.
They are now seeking a Data Engineer to join their growing data function.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a modern, cloud-based data platform, supporting business-critical analytics and data-driven decision making across the organisation.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in developing and optimising data pipelines, data models, and cloud-based data solutions. Working within a central Technology & Data function, you’ll support multiple business areas by enabling access to high-quality, reliable data.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working across data engineering, platform optimisation, and stakeholder collaboration within a structured, enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines and data models to support business needs
• Develop solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, SQL MI)
• Work with stakeholders to understand data sources, structures, and requirements
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across platforms
• Perform root cause analysis on data and system issues
• Implement monitoring and performance optimisation across data platforms
• Support and enhance data flow, collection, and transformation processes
• Contribute to data governance and best practice across the organisation
• Conduct peer reviews of data solutions and testing outputs
About You
• Strong experience in data engineering, data modelling, and pipeline development
• Strong SQL skills (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, T-SQL)
• Experience working with Azure data technologies (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, SQL MI)
• Experience working with relational databases and large datasets
• Technical experience with Python, PySpark, or PowerShell
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience working in structured delivery environments
