World Wide Technology is looking for a Data Engineer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $65.00 to $70.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
Data Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ Designing, implementing, managing scalable data solutions using Snowflake environment for optimized data storage and processing.
β’ Migrate existing data domains/flows from relational data store to cloud data store (Snowflake).
β’ Identify and optimize new/existing data workflows.
β’ Identify and implement data integrity practices.
β’ Integrate data governance and data science tools with Snowflake ecosystem as per practice.
β’ Support the development of data models and ETL processes to ensure high quality data ingestion in cloud data store.
β’ Collaborate with team members to design and implement effective data workflows and transformations.
β’ Assist in the maintenance and optimization of Snowflake environments to improve performance and reduce costs.
β’ Contribute to proof of concept, documentation and best practices for data management and governance within the Snowflake ecosystem.
β’ Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve team deliverables quality
β’ Design and develop data ingestion pipeline using Talend/Informatica using industry best practices.
β’ Writing efficient SQL and Python scripts for large dataset analysis and building end to end automation process on a set schedule.
β’ Design, implement data distribution layer using Snowflake REST API.
Skills / Qualifications
β’ Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field required (Master s degree preferred)
β’ 10 years experience in data analysis, data objects development and modelling in Snowflake data store.
β’ Snowflake REST API experience
β’ Informatica ETL and/or Talend ETL experience.
β’ Efficient SQL and PLSQL queries development and Python scripts development experience.
β’ Proven ability to work in distributed systems
β’ Proficiency with relational databases (such as DB2) querying and focus on data transformations.
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills and team-oriented mindset
β’ Strong data modelling concepts and schema design on relational data store and on cloud data store
β’ Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions and different roles.
β’ Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI is a plus.
β’ Collaborating with data scientists/experts to integrate machine learning models into Snowflake
β’ Data Warehousing background is required
