Job Title: Data Engineer
Duration: 8 months contract β possibility to extend

Project Overview
β’ Our client is seeking two experienced Data Engineers for 8-12 month data modernization initiative. These roles will work under the guidance of a Lead Data Engineer to develop a comprehensive data pipeline that transforms how our client manages and visualizes operational data.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Work collaboratively with the Lead Data Engineer and fellow team member to design and implement end-to-end data solutions from source systems (purchased data, inhouse systems & more) to Azure Data Lake and Power BI
β’ Learn the client's data framework and contribute to technical documentation
β’ Develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Mulesoft, and Microsoft technologies
β’ Execute data extraction from diverse source systems including procurement data, internal management systems, and vendor integrations (potentially from 200+ databases)
β’ Implement data standardization processes for clientβs operational metrics
β’ Support stakeholder collaboration to create meaningful KPIs and dashboards that support the clientβs operations decision-making
β’ Maintain data quality, governance, and security standards throughout the data lifecycle (experience with MS Purview for data cataloging is a plus)
β’ Contribute to translating business requirements into technical solutions for the client-specific use cases (For example learn to provide technical solutions to business questions like: "how much water do we have in terminal 2")
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
β’ 4+ years of experience in data engineering
β’ Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services:
β’ Azure Data Lake
β’ Azure Synapse
β’ Azure Data Factory
β’ Experience with Microsoft Power BI for enterprise-level reporting and visualization
β’ Proficiency in Mulesoft or similar integration platforms for vendor data integration
β’ Advanced SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts
β’ Strong collaboration and communication skills
β’ Ability to work effectively in a team environment under technical leadership
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience in transportation, aviation, infrastructure, or highly regulated industries
β’ Experience with government or public sector projects
β’ Knowledge of operations and facility management systems
β’ Azure certifications (Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect)
β’ Agile/Scrum methodology experience
β’ Experience with Profisee for Master Data Management (MDM)
β’ Knowledge of MS Purview for data cataloging and governance
β’ Experience working with large-scale data environments (200+ databases)
β’ Experience with Python/PySpark and Synapse Notebooks for data processing
The projected hourly range for this position is $60-70/hr.
