Job title: Data Engineer Location: Enon, OH (Hybrid) Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension) Overview Transforming legacy systems into a cloud-based platform to improve operations and customer experience. Seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms supporting real-time and batch processing of operational and analytical data. Responsibilities • Design and build scalable real-time and batch data pipelines for POS transactions, inventory, and IoT data. • Integrate store systems (handhelds, IoT sensors, APIs) with cloud-based data platforms. • Develop efficient MongoDB schemas, queries, and robust ETL components in Python. • Ensure data reliability, observability, and latency optimization. • Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments. • Enforce data governance, security (IAM, encryption, PCI-DSS compliance), and access controls. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience in AWS (Lambda, Kinesis, Glue, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM). • Proficiency in Python, Apache Spark (via EMR/Glue), and SQL. • Expertise in Apache Airflow or AWS MWAA for orchestration, and Step Functions for workflows. • Hands-on with MongoDB (or Cassandra/DynamoDB) and relational DBs (Oracle/Postgres). • Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ. • Knowledge of Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana). • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and understanding of gRPC protocols.
