Job Title: Data Governance Analyst
Location: Remote

Note: We are mainly looking for Data Governance SME preferably with Financial industry background who can work with the customer in defining DG Frameworks, policies and guidelines and can work as an SME for the mentioned subject area.
Position Summary
This person will play a critical role in managing and enhancing the organization's metadata environment. This role will focus on ensuring data traceability, accuracy, and usability across multiple systems, while serving as a key liaison between the data team, finance, and business stakeholders. This role will support the development of data lineage, business-friendly naming conventions, and governance practices that align with enterprise data management standards.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with the data team to manage and enhance cloud metadata repositories.
β’ Expand metadata repository to include:
β’ Source-to-target data lineage mapping.
β’ Business-friendly names for technical fields.
β’ Identification and flagging of Enterprise Critical Data Elements (ECDE) and Domain Critical Data Elements (DCDE).
β’ Identify and document OSOT (Operational Source of Truth) field names and mapped equivalents through to the General Ledger.
β’ Establish and maintain reference tables to record the source of each data element (e.g., MGA or TPA systems/personnel, system-specific SFTP feeds, etc.).
β’ Partner with the Finance team to align data dictionary and mapping efforts in SAP:
β’ Ensure proper mapping of DCDE for financial reporting.
β’ Assist in determining scope of SAP inputs (all fields vs. targeted subsets).
β’ Act as liaison between the data team and business stakeholders, including engagement with data governance councils to define and approve ECDE and DCDE.
Skills & Qualifications
β’ Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data lineage.
β’ Experience with cloud-based data platforms and metadata management tools.
β’ Familiarity with financial data management and SAP; direct experience highly advantageous.
β’ Knowledge of insurance industry data flows preferred.
β’ Proven ability to map and translate technical field names into business-friendly terminology.
β’ Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across data, finance, and business teams.
β’ Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and traceability.
Education & Experience
β’ Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Finance, or related field required.
β’ 8+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related data-focused roles.
β’ Experience in the insurance or financial services industry strongly preferred.
