Role: Data Governance Consultant (Execution Focus)

Overview: We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant to support the execution of an established data governance strategy. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and responsible for implementing governance frameworks, policies, and tools across the organization to ensure data quality, compliance, and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
Execution/Functional
• Implement and operationalize the existing data governance framework and policies
• Work with business and IT teams to enforce data standards, definitions, and ownership (data stewardship)
• Establish and maintain data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring processes
• Drive adoption of data governance practices across departments
• Support data classification, lineage, and metadata management initiatives
Technical/Tools
• Configure and support data governance and catalogue tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.)
• Implement data lineage and metadata management solutions
• Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure governance is embedded in pipelines
• Support data access controls and compliance requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5–8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality
• Proven experience in executing data governance programs (not just strategy)
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.)
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage, and stewardship concepts
• Ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in Public Sector/Government environments
• Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
